Get to Know The Lake Village Bakery

Our team makes delicious sourdough treats for Osoyoos and the South Okanagan!

Founded in 2012, The Lake Village Bakery is proud to call Osoyoos home.

Husband and wife team, Meagan and Ian Young-Bibby, purchased the bakery from the Peltiers in May 2018. Today, they continue the legacy as a traditional artisan sourdough bakery with the same beloved recipes.

The Lake Village Bakery is dedicated to bringing fresh, healthy and delicious products to our community.

As a traditional sourdough bakery, each loaf takes three days to make, from mixing through baking. It is a process filled with love and care; we can’t wait to share it with you!

We bake with local, organic, and spray-free fruit and vegetables in season. We also stock up and process our favourites for mid-winter bursts of flavour in the form of galettes, berry tarts, shortcakes and savoury treats.

Our goal is to create exceptional customer experiences with each person that walks through our door.

At the Lake Village Bakery, you will always be greeted and treated like family.

Sustainability is how we roll

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we eliminated single-use plastics from everyday bakery use in the winter of 2018/19. Alongside our zero-waste packaging products that are for sale in store, our delicious coffee is served in ceramic mugs or in your own own travel mug, and we welcome our amazing customers bringing their own clean bread bags, containers for sweets, and buckets for flour purchases.

We make our own oat and almond milks in-house and use the dehydrated residual product in our whole-grain baked goods. When it comes to sweeteners, we source 100% Quebec maple syrup, alongside amazing honey from Okanagan Wildbrush Honey. We don’t use any chemical preservatives, artificial sweeteners or dehydrated milk products.

Everything at The Lake Village Bakery is as sustainable, fresh and locally-sourced as possible.

We’re passionate about creating new recipes and working with suppliers that share our vision.

Meet The LVB Team

Meagan Young-Bibby

Meagan Young-Bibby

Co-Owner & Bakery Manager

With an educational background beginning in the arts and entertainment sector, evolving into marketing and communications, Meagan went into baking and pastry out of personal interest and passion. From working in kitchens to pouring at wineries, and over 10 years of experience in hospitality, Meagan joined The Lake Village Bakery in 2017 after travelling with her now-husband (and business partner), Ian. Today, with her Level 2 Red Seal in Baking, Meagan is one half of the proud owners and bread-parents of The Lake Village Bakery (and 2 little puppers, Taco and Marvin).

Ian Young-Bibby

Ian Young-Bibby

With a Diploma in Business Management and exceptionally high standards in customer service, Ian has 20 years’ experience in the service industry, including helping open Terrafina by RauDZ and as a managing partner at 19 Okanagan Grill + Bar in West Kelowna. With a dedicated eye on customer needs, Ian looks forward to sharing his passion for fresh, healthy food with locals and tourists alike. He is one of the proud bread-parents of The Lake Village Bakery (and 2 little puppers, Taco and Marvin).

Front of House Manager

With a culinary background that led into the world of Okanagan wine, Josh has a knack for fermented foods.

As our Front of House Manager, Josh keeps the store looking so fresh and so clean, with new local products on rotation throughout the year alongside solid bread & pastry displays. His favourite bakery snack? Can’t go wrong with a Classic Bread Pudding.

Dish Ninja & Bakery Assistant

Originally from the Lower Mainland, Gail has been an Osoyoos local for 40 years. Starting with bookkeeping at the Osoyoos Home Building Centre and transitioning into Customer Service, she’s a natural at helping people and getting things done. Gail joined the LVB team in May of 2019 and loves her job for the people… both coworkers and customers! Gail’s favourite LVB snack treat is the Sourdough Brioche Cinnamon Buns or anything with fruit in it. When not at the bakery, Gail enjoys travelling, golf, and dinner dates with her friends and family.

Junior Pastry Chef

Pritpal started at The LVB as a Bakery Assistant, and has quickly worked her way up to Junior Pastry Chef. From danishes to brownies and cakes, Pritpal is learning it all… though her favourite bakery snack is a classic Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Prit’s an amazing home cook too, and loves to bring in food to share with the team. Aside from baking the world a better place, Pritpal takes enjoyment making fun of Ian and keeping the team in line!
